Chinese Consulate General in Mumbai Hosts China-India BRICS Financial Dialogue and Exchange Event

On August 21, the Consulate General in Mumbai hosted a China-India BRICS financial dialogue and exchange event. Consul General Qin Jie attended the event alongside Anand Shah, Regional Head of ICICI Bank Mumbai, and representatives from the Mumbai branches of Bank of China and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), as well as PetroChina India.

Mr. Qin said that BRICS serves as a vital platform for Global South countries to strengthen cooperation, and the upcoming BRICS Summit in India offers a significant opportunity to deepen China-India financial ties. As one of India's leading commercial banks, ICICI can leverage its professional strengths to further support bilateral cooperation.

Representatives from ICICI Bank shared insights on the bank's operational overview, China-India financial cooperation, and the economic outlook for both India and the global market. They also engaged in extensive discussions with Chinese representatives on digital currencies, cross-border payments, and financial product innovation within the context of BRICS.
